The Tool Maker II position is responsible for moderately complex building and modifying tools, jigs, molds and fixtures using precision bench and machining operations. This role requires working with machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments, programming, setting up, and operating machine tools, and reading and interpreting blueprints to fabricate precision fixtures, assembly components, and gages. The position also involves determining and adjusting machine feeds and speeds, understanding the machinability of metals, heat treating, and basic metrology knowledge. Collaboration with engineering on designs and basic computer skills are also necessary.
