Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred and 3-5 years experience
Excellent communication skills
Understanding and ability to use various inputs from different sources
Understanding of broad scope manufacturing processes of the company
Understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to suggest/implement improvements
Ability to exercise judgment about tool grinding solutions and processes regarding decision making
Highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be a professional with strong work ethic and comfortable working as part of a team that includes all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

Set-up necessary equipment to make and/or sharpen a wide variety of complex cutting tools under the direction of more experienced tool grinders.
Make and/or sharpen variety of complex cutting tools, drills etc., as required to meet production needs
Review prints, determine angles, contours and radii required to assure cutting tool perform to maximum efficiency
Be familiar with machine feeds and speeds, tool angles and reliefs for a wide variety of materials
Maintain records or other data as required
Maintain area and equipment in neat, orderly condition
Observe all company policies, rules and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security
Provide direction and assistance to less experienced tool grinders
Perform other duties as required
