About The Position

Serves as the technical lead for the THAAD Program Tooling Team supporting production and development activities related to tooling. Designs, procures, and supports internal manufacturing build of tooling for production operations. Interprets drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product and performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data. Uses Pro-E, Creo, and Windchill or other CAD systems for tool design and modeling. Applies Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5 for tooling design. Evaluates design activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality. Analyzes and resolves technical and process issues ranging from basic to very complex. Applies mechanical design, analysis, and test experience to tooling solutions. Implements Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing for tooling applications. Applies knowledge of machining, welding, and castings for tool fabrication and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering or technical field.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product and performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data.
  • 5+ years of experience with Pro-E, Creo, or Windchill or other CAD system.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 5+ years of experience with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LM tooling, LM drawing release process, and LM Model Computer Aided Design (MCAD) process.
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing.
  • Experience with SAP, LM Property Management, machining, welding, castings, and design for manufacturing.
