This role is for an experienced Tool & Die Maker on the second shift. The individual will study specifications like blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines needed for fabrication. They will compute dimensions, plan layouts, and determine assembly methods and sequences. Responsibilities include setting up and operating machine tools (lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders), verifying machined parts against specifications, and lifting/positioning parts for machining. The role also involves smoothing surfaces, fitting and assembling parts using hand tools, verifying dimensions and clearances with measuring instruments, and heat-treating tools or parts. Additionally, the Tool & Die Maker will examine existing dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures, recommend design modifications, and participate in all quality initiatives. Adherence to all safety rules is mandatory. Other essential functions may be assigned.
