About The Position

We are looking for motivated individuals to join the Tool & Die team in an automotive manufacturing environment. This position focuses on the preventive maintenance, repair, and inspection of stamping dies used in metal production. Previous Tool & Die experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety. Comprehensive training and all necessary tools will be provided. As a Tool & Die Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair of stamping dies used in automotive manufacturing. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, committed to safety, and interested in building a long-term career in the automotive manufacturing industry. Previous Tool & Die experience is a plus but not required, as comprehensive training and all necessary tools will be provided.

Requirements

  • Mexican, Canadian, or U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must possess Titulo Universitario and Cedula Profesional (not in process). The degree must be in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Must have a valid passport.
  • No previous immigration issues or violations.
  • Willingness to relocate to the United States.
  • Basic English proficiency.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (approximately 16 kg)
  • Basic knowledge of welding (TIG, MIG, or Arc Welding).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Tool & Die experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, machining, metalworking, stamping, or tooling is preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and use precision measuring tools is desirable.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive maintenance (open check) dies.
  • Repair level -1 jobs assigned each day, but not limited from level -2 jobs for training purposes or die demand.
  • Fabricate parts and exit chutes, scrap deflectors, rollers, brackets, etc.
  • Clean, wash and polish dies as well as utilizing die wash (high pressure).
  • Operate overhead crane: Rig, flip and move dies in close proximity.
  • Remove distortion from forming inserts by hand grinding (Using red primer and surface plate for checking flatness).
  • Replace or repair punches and pierce bushings (Sharpen punches, shim up pierce bushings and hand grind to master surface).
  • Measure, mark, weld, scribe, and grind cutting inserts for repair.
  • Operate large industrial forklift.
  • Take inventory of parts for each die repaired or open checked and fill out parts order form (Punches, bushings, springs, among other activities).
  • Maintain toolbox and tools (Keep clean, neat, and account for each tool used).
  • Support press calls (die repair at press).
  • Replace die sensors.
  • After repair fill out work order and ensure die goes back to its specific area.
  • Clean and maintain work areas everyday.
