About The Position

The Tool Room/Parts Attendant is responsible to the V2X Logistics Manager for the daily routine of issuing tools and PREX parts. The Tool Room/Parts Attendant must be capable of performing requisitioning, inventory control, storing, shelf life, and cataloging of required tools and material in the support of aircraft operations. The Tool Room Attendant must be capable of interpreting and complying with all DOD, Company directives/policies as directed by appropriate levels of supervision. The Tool Room/Parts Attendant is responsible for the self-directed adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies and mandated Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety and all other applicable Navy/Air Force and Company Program requirements.

Requirements

  • Superior qualities of personal integrity, maturity, judgment and aptitude.
  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Two (2) years experience specializing in a DOD aviation/material control environment or equivalent civilian experience.
  • Familiarity with DOD procedures, regulations and directives concerning logistics support and supply systems; specifically, the tool control program as it applies to organizational and intermediate level maintenance.
  • A valid state operator’s license.
  • Ability to pass government licensing requirements.
  • Ability to qualify and obtain a secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Issuing tools and PREX parts.
  • Performing requisitioning, inventory control, storing, shelf life, and cataloging of required tools and material.
  • Interpreting and complying with all DOD, Company directives/policies.
  • Adhering to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, and mandated Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety and all other applicable Navy/Air Force and Company Program requirements.
  • Providing training in specialty/qualification/certifications to other employees.
  • Reading and interpreting all reports, directives, publications and manuals pertaining to assigned responsibilities.
  • Performing off-site related services and detachments when directed.
  • Working any shift assignment.
  • Working overtime, when required.
  • Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Complying and participating with the Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Program, when directed.
  • Operating standard office equipment such as: telephones, typewriters, computer terminals and other related mechanized equipment; facsimile and duplicating equipment; calculators, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS/OOMA), Program and Aviation Logistics Material Management System (ALMMS) for all required user techniques and applications.
  • Operating stationary and portable bar code readers.
  • Visually inspecting tools and equipment for wear or defects.
  • Preparing written damage reports and disposal/turn-in documentation.
  • Designing, developing, documenting and maintaining requisition logs and files, stock records and files and work accomplished records, etc.
  • Engraving, etching, tagging or marking tools and equipment for accountability.
  • Writing item descriptions for a range of new items entering the supply channels of an agency or field operation.
  • Using common hand tools and equipment to package, handle, and transport equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Ensuring all applicable security measures are in place.
  • Adhering to the Tool Control Program.
  • Complying with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations, as applicable.
  • Performing other duties and Collateral Duty assignments as assigned and directed by management.
