About The Position

This role involves performing maintenance, service, and repair work on large and small tool & dies, including handling engineering changes and improvements. The position is for the 3rd shift and is a union role located in SC.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Knowledge in pneumatics.
Experience with nut setting equipment.
Standard parts.
MIG, TIG, Stick welding, hard brazing.
Basic CAD drawing knowledge.
Metric System.
Basic knowledge of press operation.

Nice To Haves

Toolmaker Apprenticeship/Journeyman preferred.
Associate degree in machining preferred.
Minimum of Five (5) years automotive tool & die experience preferred.
Class A automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

General drilling and tapping, milling, turning, and grinding - cylindrical & surface - in the tool room.
Service work on all dies in the Press Shop.
Repair in the press during failure.
Ensure quality of press parts by optimized die maintenance.
Responsible for spare parts stock.
Servicing of dies with stamping nuts and supportive equipment.
PM (Preventive Maintenance on Tooling).
Re-construction of dies: turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.
Spotting of dies.
MIG, TIG, Stick welding.
