About The Position

Requirements

  • Due to need to maintain ITAR compliance, applicants must be U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  • Reads and comprehends complex blueprints and inspection specifications with a good knowledge of dimensional tolerance,
  • Sets up and uses optical comparators, surface plates and various inspection devices to measure part dimensions,
  • Sets controls of the heat-treating furnace and heat treats parts to required Rockwell hardness,
  • Ability to machine and grind precision tooling to the tolerances of +/-.0002,
  • Lifts and positions dies for assembly and dis-assembly
  • Uses hand tools such as files and stones to achieve special shapes and profiles in steel,
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions,
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form,
  • Effective time management skills,
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English,
  • Ability to work well with only modest amount of repeated instructions,
  • Be team oriented and possess flexibility and adaptability,

  • Wire EDM experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes specification, lays out metal stock, sets up/operates machine tools, fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and machinist hand tools.
  • Sets up and operates manual lathes, manual mills, manual and automatic surface grinders and all related tool room equipment.
  • Fabricates and maintains precision tooling for progressive and compound dies.
  • Troubleshoot, modifies and repairs dies to meet company specification for production parts.
  • Fabricates and assembles tooling for new dies and fixtures.
