About The Position

Electroswitch is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our manufacturing team in Rockland, MA. This hands-on position is responsible for building, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining dies, molds, fixtures, and assembly equipment that support the production of high-quality electromechanical products. The ideal candidate will have strong machining and toolmaking experience, enjoy solving complex manufacturing challenges, and be comfortable working closely with Engineering and Production teams to support new product development and ongoing manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Specialized technical training in Tool & Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of Tool & Die experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting tooling, dies, molds, fixtures, and assembly equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, gauge blocks, and comparators.

Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, modify, and maintain dies, molds, fixtures, assembly equipment, and tooling used in production.
  • Construct and troubleshoot progressive dies, compound dies, blanking dies, forming dies, drill jigs, and machining fixtures.
  • Perform precision machining operations using manual shop equipment while maintaining close tolerances and quality standards.
  • Diagnose tooling and equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist Engineering with prototype development, fabrication, tooling modifications, and new product introductions.
  • Conduct tool tryouts and validate tooling performance before release to production.
  • Inspect completed parts and tooling to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions to fabricate and modify tooling.
  • Maintain records related to tooling repairs, maintenance, and equipment performance.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams on tooling improvements, repairs, and new tooling designs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
