The 2nd Shift Tool and Die Journeyman will utilize their skills and knowledge to build, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve tooling and procedures. This role involves operating all equipment, tools, and gauges in the tool room safely and efficiently, planning machining and bench procedures, and performing difficult machining operations. The position also requires understanding metal properties, programming CNC equipment, welding, and heat treating. Documentation of findings, corrections, and improvements, along with providing detailed drawings, is essential. The ability to read and understand blueprints to build tooling with proper dimensions, clearances, and tolerances is also a key responsibility. This role may involve operating forklifts and computers, and editing CNC programs.
