About The Position

This is a Second Shift Tool & Die Apprentice position, Monday-Friday, 2pm-11pm, with a starting hourly rate of $26.42 plus a shift premium totaling $28.42/hour. The role is located in Willard, OH. The apprentice will be responsible for repairing and reconditioning existing tools, fixtures, and dies, performing machine work on components for new tools, fixtures, and dies, and operating various equipment like lift trucks and cranes. The position requires maintaining quality and production standards, following ISO and company procedures, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The apprentice must also abide by SBD Apprenticeship expectations and attend required safety classes and apprenticeship classes.

Requirements

State-approved Tool & Die Apprentice card or equivalent experience.
High School Diploma or GED
Successfully pass the apprenticeship entry exam
Must have a valid lift truck operator license or successfully complete lift truck training
Furnish required tools
Ability to read and comprehend instructions
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Basic understanding of machining, stamping, fabrication, and assembly operations

Responsibilities

Must abide by the SBD Apprenticeship expectations
Attend apprenticeship classes
Attend required internal and/or external safety classes and follow all safety rules
Repair and recondition existing tools, fixtures, and dies as assigned
Perform machine work on components for new tools, fixtures, and dies as required
Operate lift trucks, cranes, welders, and other equipment to perform Tool Room duties
Maintain quality and production standards following all ISO and company procedures
Recognize concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Perform Tool Room tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Group Leader
