About The Position

La Mere Academy is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Toddler Teacher to lead a classroom of children ages 24–36 months. The teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. The role involves providing a safe, engaging learning environment and building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience working with toddlers in a daycare, childcare center, preschool, or early learning environment.
• Strong understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to frequently bend, lift, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Experience with potty training and toddler classroom management.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for children ages 24–36 months.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and learning experiences.
• Support children’s language development, social skills, and emotional growth.
• Encourage independence through daily routines and self-help skills.
• Supervise and interact with children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and rest periods.
• Assist with diapering, potty training, handwashing, and other personal care needs.
• Monitor and document developmental milestones and classroom observations.
• Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children’s learning and development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Follow state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies.
• Build positive relationships with families and provide regular communication regarding children’s progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to create a high-quality early learning experience.
