About The Position

The Learning Experience - Tuckahoe is hiring a caring and qualified Toddler Lead Teacher to support its early childhood education program. The role guides toddlers through developmental milestones, creates hands-on learning experiences, and builds strong relationships with children and families. The teacher leads daily classroom activities and routines, implements The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum, supports children's development and care needs, communicates with families, collaborates with Assistant Teachers, and maintains a safe and organized classroom while following applicable New York childcare licensing requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's or associate degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or a high school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant professional childcare experience.
Must meet applicable New York childcare licensing qualifications for the assigned Lead Teacher role.
Strong understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate care.
Excellent communication, classroom management, and teamwork skills.
Patient, dependable, nurturing, and enthusiastic about early childhood education.

Nice To Haves

Previous toddler or infant classroom experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead daily Toddler classroom activities and routines.
Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
Encourage early language, movement, independence, and social-emotional development.
Create engaging experiences through music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning.
Support feeding, diapering, toilet training, rest time, and transitions.
Maintain consistent routines and use positive behavior guidance.
Observe developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
Mentor and collaborate with Assistant Teachers.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
Follow applicable New York childcare licensing requirements.
