About The Position

Seeking individuals who will serve as a warm, attentive role model for toddlers ages 1-2 by guiding through simple, positive examples, encouraging safe exploration and early healthy habits, and ensuring a safe, responsive environment that meets the needs of each child. Requirements

Ability to pass a background check
At least 18 years old
High school diploma/GED (required)

Nice To Haves

Associates degree or higher in education or related field or CPL level 3 or above preferred
Early childhood classroom experience, including lesson planning & conducting assessments
Demonstrates knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice

Responsibilities

Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans
Responsible for well-being and personal growth of the children
Assists in potty training
Leads the classroom team that includes supervision of Assistant Teachers
Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child
Conducts parent conferences, and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents
Maintains classroom and program equipment
Maintains required program records
Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
Maintains training in First aid, CPR, Communicable Diseases and Child Abuse Awareness as well as 10 hours of Ohio Approved training per year. (trainings provided by YMCA and affiliates)
