About The Position

The Learning Experience – Hudson Yards is seeking an energetic and compassionate Toddler Lead Teacher to support its growing early childhood program. The toddler classrooms are designed to spark curiosity, build independence, and promote meaningful learning through play and exploration. The company welcomes experienced childcare professionals with an Associate degree in ECE, a CDA, or 5+ years of classroom experience. At The Learning Experience, early education is made joyful, engaging, and fun, ensuring children are happy to learn, play, and grow. The curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development, engaging children in hands-on learning activities that encourage exploration and problem-solving at their own rate. This approach forms a foundation for kids to Learn, Play, and Grow under the care of nurturing teachers and staff. The Learning Experience has created a full cast of characters that serve as educators, partners, and friends throughout the preschool education journey, each with a unique personality and area of interest, bringing learning to life through fun and imagination.

Requirements

  • AA/BA in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or 5+ years of experience in childcare with a high school diploma.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working in a toddler, preschool, or early learning classroom.
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
  • Must meet all New York State childcare licensing requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities that match toddler learning goals.
  • Use sensory play, music, storytelling, and hands-on materials to encourage growth.
  • Observe children’s progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Foster a warm, consistent environment where toddlers feel secure and confident.
  • Help children practice communication skills, early problem solving, and emotional expression.
  • Encourage emerging independence, including self-help and toileting routines.
  • Provide clear and friendly communication with families about daily routines and milestones.
  • Keep the classroom organized, clean, and aligned with New York childcare safety standards.
  • Collaborate closely with teammates and leadership to support center-wide goals.
