Requirements

  • Over 1 year of experience in public health, human services, social work, or social service-related field.
  • Excellent organizational and people skills, detail oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and other software programs.
  • Must be tobacco-free for 6 months prior to employment date and remain tobacco-free for duration of employment.
  • Fluent in English & Spanish, both written and verbal.
  • Must have a car with valid insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, human services, social work, or social service-related field preferred; will consider a 2-year associate degree in human services, with 2 years equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the skills, abilities, and knowledge necessary to perform the work may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support, and actively participate in tobacco prevention and control program (DHS TPCP) best practice strategies and activities.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of the WHTPN multi-year action plan.
  • Plan and implement WHLTPN coalition development and infrastructure maintenance, including recruitment, orientation, and engagement of members.
  • Implement routine internal and external communication and recognition efforts to promote the coalition and tobacco control.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate education and training activities for WHLTPN coalition and community members.
  • Provide education to local and statewide policy makers to increase knowledge regarding tobacco prevention and control priorities.
  • Mobilize and engage youth, adults and organizations in high impact strategies surrounding tobacco prevention policies.
  • Utilize strategies and activities to gain earned media in support of WHLTPN goals.
  • Works in collaboration with all DHS TPCP local, regional, and statewide partners on local and statewide initiatives.
  • Evaluates and reports all WHLTPN strategies, activities and outcomes utilizing DHS TPCP required format-TOBWIS (Tobacco Wisconsin DHS website).
  • Recruit for, implement and maintain tobacco prevention FACT youth group. Facilitate monthly in-person youth meetings.
  • Maintain the WHLTPN Instagram and WHLTPN website page weekly.
  • Send out quarterly WHLTPN newsletter to coalition members.
  • Actively participate in all required DHS TPCP and UMOS activities, meetings, and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
