This role is crucial for ensuring customer orders are shipped on time with good quality and accurate counts, working within standard cost structures to meet or exceed budget requirements, maintaining good condition of materials in storage, and ensuring accuracy of inventory in Shop Edge.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the same or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills with MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills necessary to maintain company records in compliance with the Materials/Distribution and Shipping/Receiving Departments and TS 16949 procedures.
  • Ability to work a schedule that allows completion of the job on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership qualities.
  • Demonstrate a “hands on” approach.
  • Must know or have a strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Shop Edge is a must.

  • Associates degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report all quality, production, or safety problems to the responsible Manager.
  • Release and ensure delivery of all processor parts, verify weights, inventory transactions in Shop Edge, and monitor all returnable containers.
  • Schedule delivery of disposable containers, wood skids, separators, etc.
  • Assist in a full material control system with every incoming item having a purchase order and a signed receiving slip.
  • Work with materials coordinators.
  • Assist in total inventory control, including the organization and maintenance of RM, WIP, FG inventory, and purchased parts.
  • Work with the materials team to verify inventory adjustments, cycle counts, and designate and assist.
  • Assist in IATF 16949 implementation and maintenance, as required.
  • Maintain a solid focus on reducing costs while maintaining required quality levels and find/implement cost savings.
  • Assist and supervise in completing monthly and yearly inventories.
  • Ensure shipping/operator instructions are updated and followed.
  • Adjust labor manpower as required to meet demand and maintain budget.
  • Oversee and implement labor policies (attendance, discipline, and hourly workforce tracking).
  • Ensure quality parts are shipped to customer requirements.
  • Monitor all outgoing shipments – pack lists sign off.
  • Mutually establish goals and objectives with the Production & Inventory Control Manager.
  • Implement and monitor training programs and develop cross-training programs.
  • Review and evaluate all employee evaluations.
  • Perform new hire baseline, monitor, record, and train.
  • Perform subordinates’ jobs in their absence.
  • Review work center schedules and shipping schedules daily.
  • Escalate any hot list items that are not being received in a timely manner.
  • Report any unshipped item at the end of the day via escalation.
  • Control and monitor all expedited freight.
  • Research, monitor, and discipline customer complaints.
  • Develop truck schedules (in and out going shipments), maximize windows, and assign customers to dock shipping windows.
  • Assist and develop work instructions on all containers, labels, and safety/stacking related to the warehouse storage plan.
  • Support ISO standards.
  • Check the condition of vehicles coming in and out, ensure proper shipping condition (straps, tarps, blocking bars), verify paperwork and signatures, take photos of loads, and open/close yard gates.
  • Control all returnable containers, ordering to maintain min/max, cleanliness, labels, and condition of containers.
  • Assist Materials Group as needed.
