TMSS Engineer

About The Position

We are looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our global DRiV team. This position will lead development and implementation of a manufacturing excellence road-map, ensuring advanced manufacturing concepts are incorporated into our investment plans, driving out complexity, cost and inefficiency while implementing our manufacturing vision. This role will be heavily involved in ensuring consistent, risk-based compliance with Tenneco Machine Safety Standard (TMSS) across all sites, while maintaining local owner ownership, accountability and funding for execution. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing or related field.
Strong understanding of machine safety standards: ISO 12100, ISO 13849-1
10+ years directly relevant experience with: Process Development, SOR Development, CAPEX RFQs and quote assessment, Industry 4.0
Strong technical background with passion for manufacturing technology with a desire and ability to envision new manufacturing concepts including Automation, Vision systems, Advanced sensor technology, AI and data analytics, Simulation
Proven experience and passion for Lean Manufacturing.
Excellent project management skills including developing and managing a project plan, establishing project priorities, working to deadlines and controlling multiple projects in various states of readiness to meet project milestones and deadlines.
Experience in capital equipment financial model development
Experience working in cross functional teams in a technical or manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels and channels of the organization to resolve issues and overcome barriers.

Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise in development, publishing and training in machine safety standards.
Provide support to projects in the interpretation of TMSS and execution of those standards.
Identify, plan, and oversee manufacturing improvement projects to improve plant safety, quality, productivity, and cost
Define project scope and objectives.
Develop detailed timing plans with functional milestones to support project objectives; execute plan within established timing.
Create project financial model including capital equipment, investment return, labor and related aspects; manage project spending to established plan.
Provide project updates regularly to executive leadership team.
Research and analyze best practices in manufacturing concepts and trends for applicability; stay current with emerging technologies and leverage technology to benefit DRiV
Assist plants in DFM and PFMEA improvements relating to quality, cost, and customer requirements.
Develop and manage project schedules, cross-functional deliverable and detailed timelines.
Engage third-party vendors to quote and source equipment and services necessary for projects.
