About The Position

The Title IX (TIX) Coordinator provides leadership for the College’s efforts in the areas of equity and inclusive excellence (EIE), and Title IX. The TIX Coordinator promotes a campus environment in which all students, faculty, and staff are affirmed and supported. The TIX Coordinator leads the College’s efforts to reduce incidents of sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment and violence, as well as support students involved in such incidents. The TIX Coordinator supports the Dean of EIE as well as other members of the President’s Cabinet in the implementation of the College’s EIE initiatives, with the goal of creating a more welcoming, and inclusive environment at the College. The TIX Office, staffed by a TI Coordinator and a TIX Specialist, is committed to administering the College’s sexual misconduct and non-discrimination policies in a fair and equitable manner, as well as foster a campus environment in which all students have the opportunity to pursue their education in an environment free of hostility. The TIX Office addresses the following matters: (1) Sexual misconduct and other related misconduct; (2) Sexual assault, including rape and fondling; (3) Sexual harassment; (4) Intimate Partner Violence; (5) Stalking; and (6) Discrimination [based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, sex, marital status, age, disability or genetic information]. The TIX Coordinator has the primary responsibility of overseeing the College’s TIX efforts. The TIX Coordinator will lead efforts across all divisions of the College to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, as it relates to TIX laws and regulations, oversight of policies and processes when initial complaints are made, responding and investigating Title IX and civil rights discrimination, harassment and related retaliation reports and complaints from students and employees and presenting related training, and oversight of College-wide programming, outreach and educational efforts related to TIX. In this vein, the TIX Coordinator will work closely with the designated TIX staff member in Human Resources on staff matters, as well as designated staff in the Office of the Provost on faculty matters.

Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • 4-5 years experience in Title IX processes in higher education, paired with substantial experience leading Equity, & Inclusion efforts in higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct prompt, thorough and objective investigations of and respond to reports/complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation related to legally protected status; and participate in addressing violations of Title IX, including implementing interim protective and supportive measures.
  • Triage bias complaints and refer to the Dean of EIE for non-punitive measures, or to the Dean of Students (DOS) to review under the Code of Conduct when needed.
  • Coordinate with dedicated personnel in Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs to deliver the appropriate training for the campus community on all EIE & TIX matters.
  • Provide training to staff and faculty on TIX matters, and other topics such as Communication and Boundaries for Professionals, Trauma-informed Conversations, Compliance with TIX accommodations and Bystander intervention strategies, among other.
  • Provide direct supervision and support of the TIX Specialist and assist with record keeping and communication via Maxient.
  • Provide TIX accommodations to students and partner with the Associate Director of the Office of Accessibility Services when needed.
  • Partner with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness for reporting TIX matters.
  • Oversee administration of the College's Title IX Process including ensuring that the policies are regularly reviewed and updated to stay current with federal and state law, and prevailing best practices, and that all policies are adhered to and administered in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Serve on the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Studies and Dean of EIE leadership team within the Division of Academic Affairs.
  • Serve in campus-wide ad-hoc committees as required by the needs of the College.
