The Title Examiner will examine title orders within underwriter guidelines to determine the conditions of the title and insurability by considering the effect of various documents. This role involves researching title plant software, analyzing pertinent record documents to determine ownership and legal descriptions, and explaining the chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers and managers. The examiner will identify title defects, formulate curative measures, and assess risks and liabilities that may jeopardize the company, escalating these matters as appropriate. A key responsibility is evaluating the risk associated with issuing a title insurance policy and clearing title objections. The role requires preparing accurate title commitments using title software and maintaining daily production levels and delivery standards. Collaboration with customers and staff is essential to meet order timelines and answer questions. Post-closing, the examiner will generate title policies and upload them using document sharing software. Customer service and support are crucial to ensure closings are met. Additional duties include administrative tasks like file maintenance, answering phones, and special projects. Overtime may be required, and staying current with market trends and demands is expected. Functionally related duties as assigned will also be performed.
