About The Position

Titans After School Program Aides work with a group of up to 25 students (TK-8th grades). Daily tasks consist of student supervision, tutoring, homework assistance, and educational enrichment. Program aides must have high energy, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to maintain a fun and organized atmosphere. This position requires availability at least three days a week. The role involves implementing after-school program rules and procedures, supporting supervisors, communicating with the Site Coordinator, and following chain of command for reporting incidents. Aides are responsible for accurate timekeeping, attending weekly staff meetings, and collaborating with colleagues. The position involves providing educational enrichment, positive youth development strategies, recreation, prevention activities, and teaching life skills. Aides will ensure constant student supervision, maintain a safe environment, and implement program curriculum. They may also be required to provide extra support to students with behavioral challenges, work one-on-one with students needing assistance, and potentially assist with toileting needs. Tracking student progress, managing service learners, interns, and volunteers, and checking assigned email for training updates are also key responsibilities. Aides may need to fill in for instructors if short-staffed and assist with enrichment activities. This position is funded through a Grant/Contract, and employment beyond the current funding period is contingent upon continued funding.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Ability to solely manage a classroom of 20-25 students
  • Understanding behavior management and effective disciplinary techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional interpersonal and partnering relationship skills
  • Ability to keep track of all curriculum and binders at the site
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated with team-building skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel) and Google Drive (i.e. Docs, Sheets)
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented, child-focused, and want to make a difference in the lives of students
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Displaying professionalism at all times
  • Supporting their supervisor by following their directions
  • Communicating regularly with the Site Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program at the designated site
  • Following all Chain of Command when it comes to reporting any incidents or concerns at site
  • Clocking in/out on the site’s desktop computer only and completing an electronic timesheet and approving own hours on TimeClock as scheduled bi-weekly
  • Attending all weekly staff meetings
  • Working collaboratively with all staff members
  • Collecting all attendance documents and any other documents needed at the end of programming daily
  • Providing students with educational enrichment, including positive youth development strategies, recreation, prevention activities, and the ability to teach youth positive life skills
  • Ensuring the students receive constant supervision and provides a safe and supported environment at all times
  • Implementing all Titans After School Program curriculum
  • Creating and implementing an engaging educational curriculum every month upon approval of their direct supervisor
  • Managing Titans After School Program property such as curriculum materials and electronics
  • Providing extra support to students with behavioral challenges
  • Working in a small group setting with students that require extra assistance
  • Escorting students to different rooms, restrooms, and from the school day teachers to the after-school program
  • Working one-on-one with any students that require extra support in the areas of behavior, academic support, eloping, or may be a safety risk to themselves or others due to physical behavior
  • Assisting students with toileting needs and toileting accidents
  • Accurately tracking students’ progress using the programmatic protocol
  • Staying past the scheduled time when students are picked up past normal check-out time
  • Managing service learners, interns, and volunteers at the site
  • Checking their assigned Fullerton email on a weekly basis to ensure all training are up-to-date and completed by their deadline
  • Following all Titans protocols and guidelines
  • Stepping in or filling in for program instructors if the program site is short staffed
  • Assisting or leading enrichment activities, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
