About The Position
This position is responsible for leading children’s activities in and after school programs, including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs, and specialized programs. The role involves preparing and serving children snacks, assisting in leading activities, and maintaining the cleanliness of program areas. Additionally, the position requires preparing and maintaining up-to-date records and reports (attendance, development progress, discipline reports, etc.), preparing and processing supply orders, and maintaining after-school program materials in an orderly fashion, along with program accountability necessities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church, OR Any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Valid Driver’s License
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
Responsibilities
- Provides constant care of the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
- Develops and implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities.
- Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities; ensures the children's safety in utilizing the same.
- Cleans kitchen, classrooms, tables, floors, etc. in accordance with established sanitary standards.
- Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
