About The Position

The Tissue Processing Tech 1 works in Wet Production at Evergen’s West Lafayette facility, processing animal tissue to manufacture medical devices according to specifications. The role offers a structured career path from entry-level to more advanced technician work. New team members receive hands-on, one-on-one training from a dedicated trainer and gradually transition to working with minimal supervision as they build technical skills and learn company rules, regulations, and work instructions. The role involves setting up aseptic workstations, following work instructions displayed on tablets, performing detailed handcraft work, and working with colleagues in a cleanroom environment. Team members typically spend about 90% of the shift seated. The work environment is physically demanding and sensory-challenging, with wet and odorous conditions, required PPE, and limited exposure to hazardous chemicals. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with one 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven reliability, a great attitude, and a desire to learn.
Ability to move or lift objects weighing 10–50 pounds.
Ability to stand for most of the shift.

Responsibilities

Perform tissue processing activities in accordance with work instructions to achieve quality and yield outcomes.
Accurately process tissue products and meet production schedules.
Work safely, wear appropriate PPE, and apply aseptic techniques in a cleanroom or controlled environment.
Perform individual tasks and contribute to team efforts.
Properly dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Complete paperwork accurately and perform data entry in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
Support key annual operations performance metrics.
Propose and implement continuous improvement ideas.
Communicate and act honestly, positively, and considerately.
