About The Position

The Sterile Processing Technician 1 cleans, sterilizes, processes, organizes, and distributes patient equipment, instruments, supplies, and products. The role prepares rooms and organizes instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies for specified departments. It cleans and decontaminates instruments, containers, and patient equipment, following regulatory and hospital policies and procedures, and operates semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers. The technician also receives, stocks, rotates, and checks goods; removes expired goods; fills and distributes internal orders; picks up reusable trays, equipment, and instruments; and maintains inventory and applicable records. The position ensures compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control practices.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Less than one year of experience.
Basic medical terminology knowledge.
Relational and communication skills to interact with patients and staff.
Ability to comply with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control practices.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of equipment and instrument sterilization methods and procedures.

Responsibilities
