About The Position

The Clark County School District is seeking a Tire Inspector/Repairer for the Transportation Department. This position is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining tires on school buses and other district vehicles to ensure safety and operational efficiency. The role involves diagnosing tire issues, performing necessary repairs, and adhering to safety standards. The hours and specific location for this 12-month position are to be determined and may be subject to change.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of one year of experience in tire inspection and repair.
Knowledge of tire types, sizes, and specifications.
Proficiency in using tire repair tools and equipment.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals and safety guidelines.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Completion of the entire three-year employment history in the application.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with heavy-duty vehicle tires (e.g., school buses).
ASE certification in a relevant area.
Experience with tire balancing machines.

Responsibilities

Inspect tires on school buses and district vehicles for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
Perform tire repairs, including patching and plugging, according to established safety procedures.
Mount and dismount tires from wheels.
Balance tires to ensure smooth operation and longevity.
Maintain records of tire inspections, repairs, and replacements.
Assist with inventory management of tires and related supplies.
Adhere to all safety regulations and district policies.
Operate relevant tools and equipment for tire maintenance and repair.
