About The Position

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the Time and Labor Specialist will be an integral part of the Human Resources Department and work in close collaboration with the Finance Department, along with other department heads. They will be responsible for the development, training, administration, accuracy, and compliance of the organization’s timekeeping and dynamic scheduling processes. They will ensure employees’ hours worked, leave balances, leave administration, and pay-related data are accurately recorded and processed in accordance with organizational policies and applicable wage and hour laws. This role will also serve as a key resource for employees and managers on scheduling, timekeeping, and leave procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in timekeeping or HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws and timekeeping compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS and time and attendance systems (e.g. Paylocity).
  • Extensive experience in schedule management systems.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and web-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Physical requirements are comparable to most office roles.
  • Ability to interact in-person with colleagues.
  • Use common office tools and machines (computer, phone).
  • Ability to traverse throughout the office and building(s) both inside and outside of the museum and visit different levels of the building.
  • Ability to carry/transport materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
