About The Position

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2am. Weekend shift is eligible for an 8% shift differential on base pay. Effective July 7, 2026, there is a $3000 Sign-On Bonus for new applicants, paid out in two installments: the first half at 30 days and the second half at 60 days after being on Modern's payroll.

Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Ability to read blueprints and instructions.
Basic Computer skills.
Proficiency in welding techniques.
Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
Capable of reading wiring schematic.
High School diploma, or equivalent.
Successful completion of an internal welding test.
Minimum 1-year experience in various forms of welding.

Responsibilities

Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
Process inspection, certification, and documentation.
Welding equipment maintenance.
Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
