About The Position

This position will follow written instructions with daily route sheets, blueprints of components to be joined-together, and possibly at multiple angles. The role involves measuring and aligning workpieces using various tools, performing GTAW (TIG) and FCAW (Flux-core) welding on a variety of materials and thicknesses, inspecting welds for accuracy and consistency, and determining the appropriate welding equipment or method. The TIG Welder must follow established safety and quality policies, procedures, and practices. This position works in a production environment and will report directly to the Production Supervisor with daily interaction with other team members.

Requirements

  • Good mathematical abilities.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate precision measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, protractors, micrometers, and other various measuring tools.
  • Experience with Grinders, Buffers, and other hand-held tools.
  • Experience with selecting the correct Torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to material thickness.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use engineering print layouts.
  • Experience using Weld fixtures, and/or Jigs for aligning workpieces prior to welding.
  • Capable of safe operation of gas, and non-gas welding equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Experience reading and understanding weld symbols on blueprints.
  • Bending, lifting, and pushing up to 40 lbs. is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of XYZ and LRA coordinates is a plus.
  • 4-5 years of experience working with MIG, and TIG welding.

Responsibilities
