This role will work as a team member to production weld and/or weld repair castings, dies, molds, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment per weld procedures and customer specifications. The position requires the ability to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI), operate GTAW welding equipment and various hand tools, and maintain expected quality levels in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer knowledge is also necessary. The job involves welding requirements such as completing certification tests, visual acuity examinations, and formal training in Manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). Responsibilities include routing out casting defects, blending welds, welding repairs for tool rooms and maintenance, preparing surfaces, operating a hoist system, and performing production/fabrication welds. Weld blenders will also be required to prep, finish, rework, and clean welds as needed.
