About The Position

This is a part-time, seasonal role at Jay Peak. The position involves interacting with the public, explaining concert and event admission offerings and rates, processing ticket sales, and upselling whenever possible. The Ticket Seller will also provide general information about current events and other services available on and off the property. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Comfortable working outside in all forms of weather.

Responsibilities

  • Explains ticket types to customers, sells appropriate group or individual ticket, receives cash or does credit card transaction.
  • Answers questions pertaining to the current event or ongoing series of events.
  • Orients guests, explaining where they can get the goods and/or services that they desire, both on and off property.
  • Receives telephone calls, giving a variety of information, such as weather conditions and driving directions to the mountain.
  • Prepares cash up at the end of the day, submitting necessary paperwork as backup.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related or unrelated to original position.
