About The Position

The Thrive Ministry Coordinator will provide leadership, care, and oversight to the leaders involved in the Thrive ministry at Christ Chapel. This includes recruiting and equipping volunteers, supporting Mentors, Group Leaders, and Coaches, and shaping the spiritual and relational environment for weekly gatherings. They will also contribute to some content development that support the heart-change goals of the ministry and the direction set by their supervisor. The ideal candidate is a spiritually mature, relationally wise leader with a shepherding heart and a strong foundation in biblical counseling. They will bring a calm and caring presence to emotionally sensitive situations, lead with both grace and clarity, and demonstrate a genuine love for helping people experience lasting life change through Jesus Christ. Christ Chapel's Mission: "To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully-developing follower of Christ.” (Col 1:28-29).

Requirements

  • Must be a Christian.
  • A maturing believer who is obviously, consistently and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23).
  • Living an “above reproach” lifestyle as outlined in the Christ Chapel Employee Handbook.
  • Embrace Christ Chapel's doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our philosophy of ministry.
  • Represent Christ Chapel well on and off campus with consideration to social media and interaction with the community.
  • Faithful, available, teachable, and a joy to supervise (Hebrews 13:17).
  • Embrace a work philosophy of planning and delivering biblically-appropriate, God-honoring, grace-based outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a “heart for people”.
  • Committed to and supportive of the authority of the Elders, the pastoral staff, and the philosophy and direction of the church both in public and in private.
  • Passionate about proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Called to work with people who struggle with sin and suffering.
  • A faithful steward of your work and time, with awareness that Christ Chapel employees are paid from the tithes and offerings of others, working scheduled hours each week as unto the Lord.

  • Spiritual Gifts: discernment, exhortation, shepherding/ministering. Secondarily, hospitality, service and administration would be helpful.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bible college degree or some seminary training is preferred.
  • Coursework toward a degree in, or significant biblical counseling training is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a ministry or leadership role involving small groups, mentoring, or counseling.
  • Experience recruiting and training volunteers.
  • Experience providing spiritual care or crisis support to women.
  • Familiarity with the philosophy of heart transformation through Scripture-based counseling and discipleship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in both one-on-one and group contexts.
  • Skilled in time management and task prioritization within a flexible part-time role.
  • Comfortable with basic digital tools for planning, communication, and content delivery (e.g., Microsoft Office, Zoom, digital curriculum platforms).
  • Willingness to learn Christ Chapel’s systems, including RMS/LMS (people database and e-learning), and printing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide group leader and mentor trainings.
  • Provide ongoing shepherding care and encouragement to Thrive Mentor Coach, Group Leaders/Coach, Hosts, and Coaches.
  • Support the implementation of additional volunteer leadership roles, as needed and as time allows.
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment and semester transitions.
  • Coordinate volunteers and prepare environment for Thursday gatherings.
  • Review that week’s materials (scripture, theme, videos, etc.).
  • Vet and confirm volunteer testimonies or other needed elements, as appropriate.
  • Co-lead onsite team of volunteers during ministry nights.
  • Provide leadership development and encouragement in real time.
  • Set expectations for the female Host role, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for participants.
  • Coordinate and plan Large Group elements on special weeks, with supervisor.
  • Respond to occasional crisis care needs among female participants or leaders.
  • Support supervisor with possible Thrive content projects (future video changes, curriculum updates, alignment with CCBC Be/Make/Reach initiative, etc.).
  • Contribute to ministry-wide promotions and other collaborative team needs.
