About The Position

This is a Third Shift Lead Operator role focused on AMD/Changeover, working from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The role is critical for successful first-hour startup each day, with the changeover team supporting troubleshooting, equipment setup, cleaning, lubrication, and understanding operations to ensure a productive day. This position is eligible for certification pay after completing on-the-job training. The base pay is $22.97/hour, with potential increases for each additional operation learned, up to a maximum premium for AMD and Changeover certification. Qualified individuals will assist with equipment changeover, setup, and monitoring to ensure continuous production and compliance with standards. A training plan will be developed based on business needs, requiring proficiency in at least five specific roles (Pasteurizer, SPC, Labeler, Brine-maker, Process Room, Traypack, Capper, Crew Leader).

Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of and ability to operate and train on a minimum of five of the following job operations: Pasteurizer, SPC, Labeler, Brine maker, Capper, Tray pack, and Crewleader.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and report data.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adapt to changing situations and be able to establish priorities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to push/pull, climb, sit, twist, and reach.
  • Ability to stand the majority of shift and walk frequently.
  • Ability to graph, use a thermometer, read a graduated cylinder, and perform other similar functions.
  • Must become proficient in a minimum of five of the specified CCP roles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Company and Regulatory standards are met or exceeded.
  • Conduct and document verification and monitoring activities of various operations.
  • Ensure pre-operational monitoring activities, system start-up monitoring activities, and in-process monitoring activities are completed in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure all food safety, quality assurance, and GMP policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Communicate with appropriate team members if food safety or food quality may be compromised.
  • Identify and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize production delays.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams to support production demand and maintain product quality standards.
  • Work safely and participate in training specific to lockout/tagout regulations and safe forklift operation.
  • Assist with the changeover, set-up, and monitoring of equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment autonomously, including cleaning, lubing, and inspecting.
  • Report and take necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems.
  • Complete required documentation, record keeping, and reporting.
  • Work independently or with a team to ensure production demands are met.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork neatly and orderly.
  • Work efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Be available to work different shifts and overtime, including weekend overtime.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
