Requirements

  • Familiarity with shop floor gauging.
  • Some knowledge/understanding of blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections using standard gauging equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, rings, and plugs).
  • Measure and inspect parts in accordance with Operator Inspection Instructions and blueprint requirements.
  • Monitor and verify SPC data is accurately collected, recorded, and maintained.
  • Identify nonconforming or suspect products and initiate proper containment procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation, including WIP travelers and labeling verification.
  • Prepare for upcoming jobs by gathering required paperwork, SPC data, and gages.
  • Support production operations as needed, including coolant monitoring, coil changes, and scrap tracking/reporting(end of shift).
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and housekeeping expectations by maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in team activities and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
