About The Position

The Campus Laboratory School at Carlow University is seeking a dedicated and innovative Third Grade Teacher to join our team. The Third Grade Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instruction for third-grade students in alignment with the school curriculum and educational standards. This role fosters a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher collaborates with colleagues, families, and school leadership to support the overall success and well-being of each student.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching certification for elementary education (K–6 or 1–6 depending on state requirements).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Prior teaching experience in elementary education preferred.
  • Experience working with third-grade students or within similar age groups is highly desirable.
  • Additional endorsements or certifications (e.g., Reading Specialist, Special Education) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and other subject areas.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including English language learners and students with special needs.
  • Implement classroom management strategies that promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and record student progress, providing timely feedback to students and families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and improve curriculum, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain current knowledge of best practices in education.
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and school events as needed.
  • Assist with school-wide initiatives, extracurricular programs, and community events.
  • Support school policies and procedures and contribute to a positive school culture.
