About The Position

Novolex is hiring a Thermoforming Machine Operator in Franklin Park, Illinois. The role operates thermoforming and related plastics-processing equipment, performs basic equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance, inspects product quality, and supports production and shipping activities. Available shifts are 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and 7 p.m.–7 a.m. The starting rate is $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Three years of manufacturing or related experience operating or running plastics-processing equipment, such as thermoforming equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and operate micrometers.
• Good attendance history.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Complete required training in procedures, equipment, and safety.
• Perform basic operator preventive maintenance and/or clean equipment.
• Visually inspect products and identify quality attributes in thermoformed products.
• Perform other duties or tasks as needed.
• Create shipping labels.
• Wrap palletized loads.
• Lift and install the roll shaft into a roll.
• Use a hoist to place a roll onto the unwind stand.
• Feed material through the thermoformer and trim press.
• Learn and make simple adjustments, such as changing heat settings and cycle time.
• Identify and clear jammed material in the grinder and return the line to production.
