Machine Operator (Thermoforming)
About The Position
Novolex is hiring a Thermoforming Machine Operator in Bridgeview, Illinois. The operator safely and effectively runs thermoforming and extrusion equipment to produce quality products, troubleshoots production line issues, and maintains line efficiency. The role includes checking product quality, completing production paperwork accurately and promptly, assisting with production startups and shutdowns, and training future technicians in technical duties and sound work practices. The operator communicates with shift management about problem areas and action plans, follows company and safety rules, and keeps assigned work areas clean and orderly. The position is available on day or night shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., on a 2-2-3 schedule. The stated pay range is $24.71–$26.99 per hour, with an additional $1 per hour shift differential, and pay is weekly. Overtime and off-shift work may be needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Thermoforming experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the plastics industry.
- Plastics extrusion experience.
- Prior experience as an Extrusion Operator, Thermoforming Operator, or Plastics Machine Operator.
Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively operate thermoforming and extrusion equipment to produce quality products.

- Maintain run efficiencies for the line and product type.
- Ensure product quality and complete required production paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Assist with production startups and shutdowns.

- Follow company rules and policies and comply with safety regulations.
