Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Active Secret Clearance (required)
  • Proficiency in structural and thermal analysis
  • Strong experience with ANSYS Mechanical and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present detailed technical findings
  • Excellent critical thinking, logical reasoning, and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with thermal/structural analytical simulation of air-breathing engines; rocket motor analysis is a plus
  • Metals and composite materials analysis expertise
  • Knowledge of nonlinear material properties and FEA implementation
  • Familiarity with high and low cycle fatigue, damage tolerance, and NASGRO software
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work well with existing teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical approaches to solve complex structural and thermo-structural mechanics challenges
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing recommendations to integrated product teams
  • Lead methodology development, interpret results, and offer design improvement recommendations
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to both internal and external customers
  • Evaluate test hardware and analyze test data for technical assessments
  • Perform advanced simulations using ANSYS Mechanical and create material models for analysis
  • Support material modeling by assisting in test plan development, method selection, and data analysis
  • Provide analytical support for failure investigations, including fault tree development and root cause analysis
  • Assist teams in designing experiments and collecting necessary data for detailed analyses
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external technical stakeholders
  • Organize and manage engineering data, documentation, and models for secure and accessible future use
