MTS - Thermal Simulation Engineer

Micron Technology•Richardson, TX

About The Position

Micron Technology’s Heterogeneous Integration Group (HIG), within the Technology and Products Group, develops High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions for next-generation AI and high-performance computing systems. The MTS - Thermal Simulation Engineer provides technical leadership in advanced thermal and thermo-mechanical modeling for next-generation HBM products. The role defines simulation strategy, resolves complex thermal challenges across 2.5D/3D semiconductor packaging systems, develops physics-based models, correlates simulations with silicon results, and influences product, package, material, and process decisions across teams. The engineer will lead development of high-fidelity thermal and thermo-mechanical models and multiphysics simulation strategies, analyze thermal transport and thermo-mechanical behavior in stacked memory architectures, and validate models with characterization and test teams. The role also advances simulation methodologies and scalable frameworks, mentors engineers, establishes guidelines, and evaluates AI-enabled solutions for practical improvements in engineering productivity, innovation, quality, and execution speed.
