About The Position

The Thermal Operator performs operational functions related to the safe and efficient treatment and disposal of thermal waste while complying with applicable regulations. The role includes testing samples and performing lab work, carrying out treatment to meet discharge limitations, operating equipment for waste collection and processing, and completing facility inspections and related paperwork. The operator also handles housekeeping and equipment and site maintenance, along with other related duties within the general nature and level of the role.

Requirements

• Ability to use light equipment, such as a forklift and pallet jack.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample testing and laboratory work, and carry out treatment needed to meet discharge limitations.
• Load and unload bulk and containerized materials using light equipment.
• Operate equipment used in the collection, packaging, recycling, treatment, and disposal of thermal waste.
• Perform daily inspections of the facility and storage tanks.
• Process inbound and outbound paperwork, including customer manifests.
• Operate equipment to empty oil drums and transfer solids and fluids to storage tanks.
• Perform general housekeeping, including cleaning tankers, and maintain equipment and the site.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
