About The Position

This position brings both scientific and business expertise to the identification and evaluation of new blood cancer opportunities for TAP; and project management expertise to the oversight of ongoing projects in the TAP portfolio. The incumbent has substantial scientific, business, financial and project management experience and works as a member of the TAP team.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., in biomedical sciences, or related fields with translational (and clinical research experience is preferred) or MD with clinical research experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant scientific work experience which includes oncology research experience (combination of post-bachelors and/or post-graduate is acceptable).
  • Demonstrated project management experience in a relevant biomedical research program.
  • Fundamental understanding of FDA regulatory requirements
  • Experience with oncology research; familiarity with blood cancer research is desirable but not a requirement; willingness to learn the biology and therapeutic development for a broad array of blood cancers over a multi-year period.
  • Experience with drug discovery and/or clinical development process.
  • Documented strong project management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience in the oversight of a wide variety of timeline-driven projects.
  • Must be proactive and willing to do a wide variety of scientific and administrative oversight.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills will be particularly important due to the collaborative nature of this job; enjoys working as part of a team. Ability to work in a dynamic, unstructured environment.
  • Excellent communication skills needed for working within Blood Cancer United, with external advisors and TAP partner companies.

Nice To Haves

  • translational (and clinical research experience is preferred)
  • Pharma/Biotech or related CRO experience focusing on drug discovery and/or clinical development is desirable.
  • familiarity with blood cancer research is desirable but not a requirement

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and/or project management support for the Vice President of TAP including the identification and evaluation of potential TAP opportunities; perform on-going evaluation of existing partnerships and prepare materials for both internal and external meetings.
  • Manage several on-going TAP partnerships, working closely with members of TAP, Research group and external partners/ collaborators.
  • Represent the TAP and Research group as needed at scientific, medical and business meetings.
  • Work with revenue/fundraising departments (Campaigns, Principal Gifts, Advancement, and Corporate Partnerships) as well as with Constituent Experience (Marketing and Communications) to craft TAP-based donor material to promote fundraising activities.
  • Work closely with TAP team and finance department to track operations to help shape the TAP strategic plan.
  • Participate in regular Research management meetings held by CSO to review and guide Research strategy for Blood Cancer United.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Blood Cancer United mission and programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
