About The Position

We are hiring staff for a community-based violence prevention program that aims to reduce violent recidivism through intensive and voluntary therapeutic services. This program is part of the Atlas initiative and uses the evidence-based Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model to engage young people and their families in holistic anti-violence services. Atlas works to prevent violence by meeting people during a crisis, like a recent arrest or open court case and connecting them to a change process that nurtures hope and strengthens relationships. In collaboration with UWNYC to young people at elevated risk for violence in the community, victimization, or a re-arrest. FFT is an evidence-based intervention for youth and families. This high-quality, strength-focused family counseling model is designed for high-risk youth and young adults who have been referred by the criminal court, juvenile justice, mental health, school, or child welfare systems. Services are short-term and typically offered in the home, though services can be offered in the office or other community settings.

Requirements

  • Licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT) in a Behavioral Health or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in youth and family-serving programs
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a clinical or operations supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and vision to assist the FFT team in achieving goals, continually improving performance, and meeting challenges proactively and effectively
  • Hire and provide clinical and administrative supervision to FFT staff
  • Ensures relationships with partners and community groups are established and maintained
  • Ensures compliance with the FFT model and quality of care
  • Attend all required FFT & Clinical Service System training
  • Collaborates with intra-agency departments and programs on programmatic, fiscal, IT, and human resources-related issues
  • Participates in agency and external meetings
  • Uses available data to identify needs, provide guidance to program staff, and inform the program of planning and quality service delivery
  • Ensures appropriate training and supervision are provided to all staff; may develop and provide training opportunities across divisions to enhance the delivery of services and staff competencies
  • Provides clinical supervision to FFT therapists and promotes professional development
  • Adheres to program budgets and maintains programs’ fiscal viability
  • Manages risks regarding client safety by adhering to all risk management protocols
  • Facilitates team meetings to promote quality of care for the residents and families
  • Responds to opportunities to expand service delivery options
  • Performs all other duties assigned
  • Ensures programmatic systems are in place to meet client service delivery needs
