About The Position

This is a 1099 contract position for a therapist to provide direct clinical services. These services will primarily be provided in a school setting, but may also include community-based settings as needed and appropriate, including meeting HIPAA standards (i.e., client’s home, courts, Boys & Girls Club, etc.). The role involves developing treatment plans, participating in various meetings and conferences, working with administrative support for scheduling and authorizations, and completing all clinical and administrative processes in compliance with regulations. Communication with supervisors, colleagues, clients, families, schools, courts, and other professionals is essential. The therapist will also coordinate with other professionals and programs to ensure the best treatment for clients and assist in maintaining compliance with licensing and accreditation regulations. Maintaining professional licensure through continuing education is also required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field
  • Licensed, in good standing, by Arkansas Professional Board as an LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LPE, LPE-I, PhD
  • Ability to document accurately and professionally
  • Must be physically capable of receiving verbal and written directions
  • Remains current in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, CPR & First Aid
  • Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health, regardless of gender
  • Must have good auditory, visual, and olfactory ability
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading, and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.
  • Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen, chart, or other treatment items
  • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and intermittently walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Flu vaccination is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).

  • Trauma Focused CBT certified or in progress
  • Other specialized training/certification or in progress (i.e., play therapy, EMDR, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical services including diagnostic assessment, individual, family, and group therapies, crisis intervention, and collateral intervention.
  • Develop treatment plans in cooperation with clients, families, and treatment team members, and perform reviews/updates specific to organization policies, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in departmental and program treatment team meetings, staff meetings, training, and supervision.
  • Participate in school-based family service or referral meetings, IEP & 504 conferences, parent-teacher conferences, open houses, in-service trainings, school, and district committees.
  • Work with administrative support and utilization review staff to facilitate scheduling, prior and continuing authorizations for services, and transfers/discharges.
  • Complete all clinical and administrative processes, including documentation, in compliance with organization, department, and program policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations (Medicaid, Joint Commission, insurance, etc.).
  • Provide timely communication verbally and in writing with supervisor, colleagues, clients, families, schools, courts, and other professionals within and outside the organization.
  • Work with other professionals and programs within the MFH continuum of care and/or other outside organizations and agencies to coordinate the best and most appropriate treatment for MFH clients, including transfers and referrals.
  • Assist in preparation for, and help maintain compliance with state and federal licensing and accreditation regulations.
  • Maintain professional licensure by completing required continuing education and providing copies of updated license and CEU certificates to Human Resources.
