About The Position

Centerstone is seeking a therapist with experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This is an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team. No weekend or on call work required. The role involves developing therapeutic rapport with clients, conducting diagnostic assessments (including substance use assessments), and providing concurrent documentation within 24 hours. The therapist will offer assessment services and individual (and possibly family) therapy to clients with substance use issues. Key responsibilities include developing, writing, implementing, evaluating, and revising treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and client input. The therapist will utilize empirically based modalities for mental health or substance abuse diagnoses, complete progress notes, and respond to supervisory requests for urgent care and caseload coverage. This includes telephone and face-to-face interventions, and keeping the administrative supervisor informed of potential program or organizational issues.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a specialization in MH Counseling
  • License-eligible in respective discipline preferred
  • If Master's degree is in a related field outside of the disciplines listed above, completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in clinical treatment and treatment planning
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in appraisal and assessment of mental disorders
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in psychopathology
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in the use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting
  • Clinical experience, which may be fulfilled through clinical practicums or internships completed as part of a master’s degree program
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Coordination, ability to organize, and plan are critical for this role
  • Responds to needs of consumers in a timely and professional manner
  • Demonstrates good clinical judgment in decision making regarding consumers

Responsibilities

  • Develop therapeutic rapport with clients
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, including substance use assessments
  • Complete documentation within 24 hours
  • Provide assessment services, individual (and possibly family) therapy to those identified with substance use issues
  • Develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise overall treatment goals/objectives and plans
  • Use empirically based modalities to engage and manage mental health or substance abuse diagnoses
  • Complete progress notes within current agency guidelines
  • Respond to supervisory request for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads
  • Keep administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organization
