About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Mental Health Therapist to provide high‑quality, trauma‑informed therapeutic services to individuals and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. The ideal candidate will utilize evidence‑based practices, deliver culturally responsive care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support client wellness. This role spans both Crisis Residence and MHOTRS clinic settings and plays a key role in crisis stabilization, treatment planning, and recovery‑oriented, strengths‑based care. Salary posted for fully licensed applicants. Please note: MHC-LP, LMSW, LMSE, or Limited Permit salary base rate is $59,789.34 Position may be eligible to a sign on bonus

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses and therapeutic interventions
  • Experience with evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation
  • Valid NYS Driver License
  • Reliable vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure preferred: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC (higher salary range for fully licensed candidates)
  • Familiarity with OMH programs and Medicaid billing strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and oversight to direct care staff, ensuring effective crisis intervention and trauma-informed engagement
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or similar approaches
  • Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with billing, legal, and ethical standards
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support
  • Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, coping skills, and community resources
  • Participate in on-call coverage rotation
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, and respect
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and professional ethical standards
