About The Position

The Youth Resiliency Center Therapist provides assessment and treatment services to Synergy Service’s children and their families in our Family Care Program. This role involves direct clinical counseling, case management, and participation in program development. The position may also include supervisory responsibilities for practicum students, interns, or therapists seeking licensure.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marital and family, art therapy, or other applied behavior science degree.
  • License in the State of Missouri.
  • Fully licensed as a therapist at the Master’s level (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist).
  • Ability to use general office equipment and computer software, including Windows, Word for Windows, Outlook, and MS Access.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • Must pass a background check and Family Care Safety Registry screening, fingerprint screen, physical, and drug screen.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Art therapy training or credential is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct clinical counseling services (22-25 hours per week for full-time).
  • Conducts assessments (initial assessment, testing, or other assessment).
  • Provides treatment including individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, art therapy, play therapy, support groups, and psycho-educational groups.
  • Develops treatment plans, provides case management, and follows up on cases.
  • Networks with substance abuse and mental health agencies and the Children’s Division of the State of Missouri.
  • Coordinates services, writes reports, and makes referrals for additional or different services.
  • Maintains clinical portions of client files according to Agency documentation standards.
  • Participates in weekly peer supervision group and individual supervision of cases.
  • Participates in professional development and training, such as attending continuing education workshops.
  • Maintains requirements for credentialing or licensure.
  • Participates in program planning and problem solving.
  • Facilitates team building and staff development.
  • Actively participates in program team meetings.
  • Participates in the on-call rotation, which includes clinical and case management responsibilities.
  • Participates in Performance and Quality Improvement activity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May include clinical supervisory responsibilities of practicum students, interns, or other employed therapists seeking licensure.
  • Assists other employees by sharing experience, expertise and training.
  • Makes clinical and administrative decisions when serving in the on-call rotation.
