About The Position

This position is for therapists (Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech and Language Specialist) for the ESY 2026 program. The program runs from July 2, 2026 (Staff Day) to August 7, 2026 (Student/Staff Days). The role requires a valid NJ Department of Education Certification and NJ Licensure. Experience working with students with disabilities and SEMI logging experience are preferred and required, respectively.

Requirements

Valid NJ Department of Education Certification
NJ Licensure
Valid New Jersey School Occupational Therapy Certificate
Appropriate licenses and certification to practice occupational therapy in the public schools issued by the State Board of Examiners
Valid New Jersey School Physical Therapy Certificate
Appropriate licenses and certification to practice physical therapy in the public schools issued by the State Board of Examiners
Valid New Jersey Speech and Language Specialist Certification
SEMI logging experience required
Demonstrate physical strength, agility, and energy to perform essential job functions and to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students and of self.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Implement current occupational therapy practices and techniques.
Set up equipment and assist with lifting, transferring, and positioning students.
Work effectively with students, school community members, and the general public with patience and care.
Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
Perform SEMI logging.
Implement current physical therapy practices and techniques.
Assess students' speech needs.
Prepare written reports.
Communicate effectively with students and parents.
Develop and implement services to promote positive adjustment and effective learning.
