About The Position

San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion-free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas, is seeking licensed therapists to work with its Child & Adolescent population. The facility spans 65 acres and includes 13 living units, swimming pools, gymnasiums, a sports court, playing fields, a ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail. They provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17, utilizing customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to help young patients moderate their behavior, manage emotions, and improve social functioning. This position is part of an interdisciplinary team, responsible for direct behavioral healthcare services including assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual, group, and family therapy, case management, patient and family education, and discharge planning. The team actively engages in professional development, presenting evidence-based practices at national conferences and sharing expertise in areas such as Play Therapy, Garden Based Therapy, Ropes, Nurtured Heart, DBT, Smart Recovery, Screamfree Parenting, and Trauma Focused Yoga.

Requirements

  • TX LPC, LPC-Associate, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, or LMFT-Associate
  • Ability to provide effective short-term individual, group, and family therapy services.
  • Exceptional computer skills, proficiency in MS Word and capacity to produce polished desktop clinical documents utilizing computer templates and formats with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain customer-oriented services and behavior resulting in positive satisfaction.
  • Function in a manner consistent with Service Excellence standards as applied to both external and internal customers.
  • Flexibility regarding schedule and availability for evening and weekend family therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team within the organization/program.
