As a full-time Licensed Therapist II within the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board's Clinical Adult Outpatient Program, you will join ACOS, a leader in providing comprehensive Outpatient Mental Health Services. Our professional team comprises licensed therapists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, board-certified psychiatrists, gerontologists, and peer support specialists, all dedicated to supporting individuals through the complexities of mental health challenges and everyday stressors.

Requirements

  • LPC, LCSW, or LMFT licensed professional.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience, including therapeutic counseling crisis intervention and case management functions.
  • Must be eligible or approved for MCO credentialing.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of managed care clients dealing with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • Conduct assessment evaluations for incoming clients.
  • Deliver ongoing therapy.
  • Engage in decision-making and apply complex theoretical approaches to individual, group, and family therapy sessions, ensuring sensitivity to diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural values throughout the therapeutic process.
