Adult Outpatient Therapist - Lombard
About The Position
The DuPage County Health Department is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to provide outpatient care for the adult population. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a team atmosphere, collaborating across programs and organizations, and being part of an evolving and dynamic organization. The Adult Outpatient program offers treatment to individuals with serious mental illness through individual & group counseling, community support, and psychiatric treatment. This program is integrated within a larger behavioral health system that includes crisis services, adult intensive services/residential services, forensic behavioral health, and substance use treatment. The position is located at our East Public Health Center in Lombard, IL, and involves care coordination, crisis support, and counseling services.
Requirements
- Completion of a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field and two years of experience with chronically mentally ill population; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Good knowledge of community resources and the ability to work collaboratively with service providers.
- Requires an LCSW or LCPC or be eligible to test for clinical licensure.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes evidence-based practices to provide outpatient psychotherapeutic and counseling to individuals and groups
- Manages client caseload and maintains regular contact with clients
- Provides diagnostic assessments, and develops treatment plans to determine the frequency, duration, and intensity of treatment
- Provides referrals to community resources and monitors service delivery across providers in order to promote successful whole health treatment outcomes
- Maintains accurate and compliant documentation and clinical records
- Maintains required training, licensure and/or certification and confidentiality of privileged information at the same time adhering to client privacy laws
- Participates in emergency response activities as assigned
