About The Position

The DuPage County Health Department is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to provide outpatient care for the adult population. This role involves working in a team atmosphere, collaborating across programs and organizations within a dynamic and evolving behavioral health system. The Adult Outpatient program offers treatment to individuals with serious mental illness through individual and group counseling, community support, and psychiatric treatment. The position is based at the Central Public Health Center in Wheaton, IL, and involves care coordination, crisis support, and counseling services.

Requirements

Completion of a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field and two years of experience with chronically mentally ill population; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Fluent in Spanish
Good knowledge of community resources
Ability to work collaboratively with service providers
Requires an LCSW or LCPC or be eligible to test for clinical licensure.

Responsibilities

Utilizes evidence-based practices to provide outpatient psychotherapeutic and counseling to individuals and groups
Manages client caseload and maintains regular contact with clients
Provides diagnostic assessments, and develops treatment plans to determine the frequency, duration, and intensity of treatment
Provides referrals to community resources and monitors service delivery across providers in order to promote successful whole health treatment outcomes
Maintains accurate and compliant documentation and clinical records
Maintains required training, licensure and/or certification and confidentiality of privileged information at the same time adhering to client privacy laws
Participates in emergency response activities as assigned
